This unique visualization is displayed as an interactive mind map, with each bubble representing the popularity of the search within Google. Users can explore popular questions like “Why do dogs eat grass?” and “Why do cats like boxes?”, each of which will open a Google search upon clicking.

The questions are categorized by topic (for example, sounds and movement) and can also be explored visually. It also lists the most popular questions asked about cats and dogs. What makes this visualization so interesting is how universally common some of the questions are. Most pet owners would love to understand more about their loved ones’ thoughts, behaviors, and feelings. Google and internet searching can help provide some answers and connect users to veterinarians and pet behavior specialists that can shed light on out pets’ unique personalities.

The microsite offers a few bonus visualizations as well. This radial span chart displays search popularity across 115 countries between 2013-2018. It also highlights the top five countries with the highest search volumes for both dogs and cats.
