When we think of the most popular characters around the world, many quickly come to mind. Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, and Barbie have been staples in children’s lives for decades and have earned money through merchandising and media. How much money have each of these iconic characters earned through the years?

The graphic uses vertical bar charts to depict which characters have earned the most money. At the top of the list is Pokémon, which includes pop culture icons like Pikachu and Bulbasaur. These characters have earned more than $76 billion since the creation of the franchise in 1996.

Second on the list is Mickey Mouse, a beloved Disney character that holds a special place in many people’s childhoods. Mickey and his friends have earned $34 billion since their inception. Mickey Mouse was created in 1928 by Walt Disney, and has since spawned multiple films, television shows, books, and merchandise. Other characters in the Mickey Mouse family include Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto.

Coming in number three is the characters from Star Wars, earning more than $51 billion through the years. The original Star Wars trilogy has a number of iconic characters including Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia, but additional additions from the franchise have also introduced popular characters like Grogu (commonly known as Baby Yoda) who appeal to a new generation of fans and have made a considerable amount of money from merchandising.
