It starts with the early 1900s Victorian Era and travels through current day trends on a fashion blast through the past of the most popular prom dress styles from every decade. Here you’ll find the free and fun flapper dresses of the 1920s to the long and flowing bohemian dresses of the 1970s. As you go through the timeline of dresses it’s interesting to note how popular movies or celebrities had an impact on a decade’s fashion trends. The popularity of “Gone With the Wild” in the 1940s brought back the Victorian-Era style dresses that had been popular forty years prior. Pop stars like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera influenced the prom dress styles that were popular in the 2000s. As the dress styles change from decade to decade, one thing about prom remains the same and that is the desire to get decked out in fancy attire and dance the night away with friends and  classmates. And to see who is crowned Prom King and Prom Queen, of course! What type of prom dress do you think will emerge as one of the most popular styles of the 2020s?

Actors are prized for their performances, charisma, looks, and star power that draws audiences to their films. A key component Hollywood looks for is the success of an actor’s film roster. The team at Ever Present took that metric and created a chart of the highest grossing actors in Hollywood.

This detailed list ranks the actors by their earnings and adds detail like precisely how much their films have earned, and which film brought in the most money. You can also see how many films the actor has had a lead role in. In the case of the number one highest grossing actor, Samuel L. Jackson, more lead roles mean higher grossing films. The renowned Jackson has led in 69 films, including franchise juggernauts like Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His highest grossing film was Avengers: Endgame, something he has in common with many of the other performers on this list, including the number #2 highest grossing actor, Scarlett Johansson.

45 Famous Phones from Pop Culture

Some phones help form part of our lasting impression of a character. For example, Pee-Wee Herman’s picture phone is a regular part of the show and adds texture to Pee-Wee’s whimsical world. In the film, Juno, the title character is a relaxed teen with a quick wit, who uses a phone shaped like a hamburger to add a sense of humor and childishness to otherwise serious conversations.

Here are some more examples that appear on the chart:

  • TARDIS from Doctor Who
  • Clear Conairphone from Clarissa Explains it All
  • “Show Me the Money!” Flip Phone from Jerry Maquire
  • Neo’s Cell Phone from The Matrix
  • Shellphone from Spongebob Squarepants
  • Glass Case of Emotion from Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

How many phones do you remember from this list? Have any of them made you re-think the movie or show they appear in?
